Examples of experience:
Commissioned as community mentor in four New Deal for Communities areas,
in the West Midlands, running public meetings, recruiting board members, supporting their learning and development and championing their participation. This also involved working closely with officers to build their confidence and skills when working in complex communities.
Trained Board members of a newly established neighbourhood renewal area in a range of skills and knowledge building their capacity to take the lead in their neighbourhood of Peterborough. The programme was determined week by week by the participants and designed according to their emerging needs.
Managed community consultation, training community champions to consult with the public and help analyse results. This work has been carried out in several local authorities in
the East of England and West Midlands.
Two major projects in Ukraine to engage communities in
setting up and managing environmental projects in Donetsk
and in Bashtanka. This has involved working with the Ministry
of the Environment, civil servants and staff and volunteers in non- government organisations. |
